I’ll be the first to admit it. I don’t know a lot about cars.
Jokes have always been my thing so if there’s not a joke about a car, I really don’t care to know much about them. To me, a car gets you from point A to point B and if it does that, it’s a good car.
Of course, some cars are definitely better than others. I figure this out every time I rent a car in another town. Because I’m cheap, I usually get something equivelant to a Ford Pinto and by the time I arrive at my destination, my body feels like I rode a bike there.
Certainly, I can appreciate the better things in life. After all, I drive a Lexus myself. I won’t drive a Mercedes because I think they are too showy. But Lexus, it says luxury and I appreciate the drive.
My impression is the Volvo is a very good car. It has a reputation as being one of the safest cars on the road and you always think of babies riding around in Volvos. I also like the name because it kind of rolls off the tongue, if you know what I mean. I’ve never owned a Volvo, but I suspect the car has a good ride and nice pickup. Nobody will say you are a cheapskate if you drive around in a Volvo; they are a highly respected automobile.
When you think of a Ford car, you probably think about the bailout that President Obama granted to the Detroit auto maker. I don’t want to get political here, but I understand why we needed to bail out the banks, but I wasn’t quite sure why we bailed out Detroit’s auto makers. After all, what are they going to do differently to help sell American cars again? That was, until I saw the Ford Fusion. This car isn’t your Grandpa’s Ford. It’s a hot automobile with fine lines and seems to be a cross between a sports car and an economical sedan. The Ford Fusion review that I read was very positive and it looks it might be a good seller for Ford once this economy turns around.
I’ve never owned a Saturn car either and quite frankly, didn’t know much about them. Then, I checked out the Saturns on the Car Connection site. Saturn has a nice array of automobiles and they come in a lot of neat colors. I would definitely consider a Saturn for my daughter who will soon be driving.
I remember when Hyundai first came on to the American auto scene about two decades ago. It definitely was the K-Mart of automobiles. No more. These are great looking cars and actually have a feel of luxury in their sedan models. The Hyundai Genesis is a car that will be a good seller for the 2010 models. It really looks like it could be a breakthrough car for Hyundai and the American public.
